About Clark

Clark Dean isn’t a career politician – he’s a husband, a father, a devoted Christian, a respected business leader, and above all, a public servant. Clark has spent his life living the values that make Georgia strong: faith, family, service, and personal responsibility. As Governor, he will bring a servant’s heart, a business leader’s discipline, and a father’s determination to fight for Georgia’s future. Raised in a Christian household in the South, Clark learned early that faith is lived through service to others. Mission trips throughout his youth shaped his worldview and instilled a deep commitment to hard work, leadership, and community service.

Upbringing

Clark excelled as a young man—an Eagle Scout, SGA president, musician, and multi-sport letterman—before attending Harvard University. There, he graduated cum laude in biomedical engineering, played varsity football, served as a class officer, and delivered the Harvard College oration at his graduation.

Business Accomplishments

Clark built his career in the private sector, excelling in management consulting, corporate finance, and commercial real estate. He founded Transwestern’s Transaction Sciences Group and was recognized as the firm’s number one national producer in 2021. Through his business leadership, Clark has helped companies and nonprofits thrive across Georgia and around the country. His achievements have earned him recognition as one of the Atlanta Business Chronicle’s “40 Under 40” and as one of Georgia Trend’s “500 Most Influential Leaders” and "Notable Georgians."

Public Service

Service has always been central to Clark’s life. He has dedicated decades to organizations that strengthen communities, protect the vulnerable, and expand opportunity. He became the youngest president in the history of the Rotary Club of Atlanta, leading initiatives supporting veterans and combating human and sex trafficking. As Chair-Elect of the Shepherd Center Board, he has expanded access to rehabilitation and traumatic injury care worldwide. Clark also served as Chair of the Metro Atlanta YMCA, advancing early childhood education, and helped transform Covenant House Georgia into a modern campus serving thousands of homeless youth. He additionally serves on the boards of Café Momentum, the Atlanta Opera, and the Veritas School of Social Sciences.

Faith & Family

Clark and his wife, Kristin, live in Atlanta and have three adult children. Their family is actively involved at Second Ponce de Leon Baptist Church, where Clark has taught adult Sunday School classes for over a decade.
